Abstract: The Digital Dilemma, a white paper on digital film preservation as a starting point, and the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) standard for mixed video, film and CG VFX films have both been promoted under the leadership of Andy Maltz of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). In this talk, the technical overview of the ACES standard and its archival aspect will be explained in detail, and then the relationship with the current standards (DCI, BT.2020, etc.) and its prospects will be discussed.
